Das FAUN-Projekt ist ein sich kontinuierlich entwickelndes Bild- und Text-Archiv, ein Archiv in process. Es umfasst in dokumenta-rischer wie künstlerischer Fotografie Darstellungen zum Motiv- und Ideenfeld des Fauns, auch Satyr oder Pan genannt. Dabei werden Zusammenhänge transparent, die die antike Figur und ihr Wiederaufgreifen in der Renaissance mit Phänomenen der Gegenwart konfrontieren, sodass das Archiv die Komplexität der Bedeutungsfelder aufzeigt. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Amalgamierung einander fremder Stoffe, die im antiken Motivfeld angelegt ist und die Historizität hybrider Gestaltungsformen aufzeigt. Das Archiv findet in einer parallel entstandenen wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung eine kunsthistorische Verank-erung und zugleich eine Reflexion des Phänomens und der ihm anhängenden Ideenfelder, die sich im wissenschaftlichen Diskurs der Gegenwart als eine Denkfigur (Narrativ) beginnen zu artikulieren. // The FAUN-project is a steady developing archive of images and texts, an archive in process. It contains in documentary and artificial photographs the rendering of the field of motiv and ideas of the Faun-figure, also called Satyr or Pan. In this way contexts will become transparent, which confront the ancient figure and its take-up in the Renaissance with phenomenas of the present time, so that the archive points out the complexity of the meanings. The focus is on the amalgamation of substances, which are strangers to each other and which are anchered in the antique field of motive. This indicates the historicity of hybrid forms of creation. A parallel realized scientific discussion includes the Archiv in an arthistoric frame which is also a reflection of the phenomen and its associated fields of ideas, which begin to be articulated as a figure of thinking (narrative) in the (very) contemporary scientific discussion.
